Before the flight

Do I need any experience?

No. On a tandem flight your pilot flies the wing. You get a briefing before take-off and take a few running steps at launch – that’s all.

Who can fly?

Basically any healthy person from about age 3 or 15 kg up to 135 kg body weight. There is no upper age limit. We advise against flying with cardiovascular problems, acute injuries or during pregnancy.

I’m afraid of heights. Can I still fly?

In most cases, yes. Fear of heights usually comes from standing at an edge or on a bridge. In the harness you feel carried instead. Many of our guests with a fear of heights have enjoyed the flight.

Can people with disabilities fly tandem?

Often, yes. We have experience with passengers with walking disabilities and other physical limitations. Please contact us before booking so we can prepare everything properly.

What should I wear?

Sturdy shoes that cover the ankle, long trousers and a windproof jacket. In winter warm clothes, gloves and a thin hat under the helmet. Sunglasses are useful all year.

Can I wear glasses?

Yes. Regular glasses and sunglasses are fine – we actually recommend sunglasses because of UV and airflow.

How much can you weigh for tandem paragliding?

Up to 135 kg body weight. Children can fly from about 15 kg. You should also be able to take a few running steps at take-off.

Safety & weather

How safe is tandem paragliding?

All our pilots are state-certified tandem pilots. The equipment is approved for tandem flying and inspected regularly. Our pilots only fly when wind and weather allow a safe flight.

Are there air pockets?

No, air pockets don’t exist. There are rising and sinking air currents that lift or lower the wing slightly. Your pilot balances them out.

What weather do you fly in?

The sun doesn’t have to shine – we also fly under cloud. What matters is wind strength and direction, rain and thunderstorms. Your pilot decides on the day whether it’s flyable.

What happens in bad weather?

We move your flight to another date free of charge. If conditions look uncertain, we get in touch before the flight.

When in the year can I fly?

All year. In summer we fly at the Elfer and Schlick, in winter mainly at Schlick 2000. In the off-season the launch site depends on which lifts are running.

When is thermal lift at its best?

Thermals form when the sun warms the ground – on sunny days usually from late morning into the afternoon, especially in spring and summer. In the morning the air is usually calmer.

How it works

How long does a tandem flight take?

Flight time is between 8 and 40 minutes, depending on the flight. Including the lift, briefing and landing, allow about an hour for a high-altitude flight.

How fast does a paraglider fly?

A tandem wing flies at about 36 to 40 km/h. Because of the height it feels much slower – more like floating.

How do I get there from Innsbruck?

By car via the A13 Brenner motorway, exit Schönberg/Stubaital, in 20 to 30 minutes. Without a car, take buses 590–594 from Innsbruck main station to “Abzweigung Elferlifte” (Neustift) or “Fulpmes Schlick 2000”.

How do I get to the launch site?

Together with your pilot by cable car. The launch is just a few minutes’ walk from the top station.

Is the lift ticket included?

No. You buy the ticket for the ride up at the valley station.

Can friends or family watch?

Of course. Companions can watch the take-off or the landing – ideally both.

Can I take my own photos?

Both your hands are free in flight, so you can take photos or film. Secure your phone well. Alternatively your pilot films the flight for €30.

How do I pay?

After the flight on site, cash or card. Vouchers are paid online.

Do you offer preferred dates or groups?

Yes. If you can only make a particular day or want to fly as a group, message us and we’ll suggest something. Groups get special rates.
