What to expect

Children often experience the flight with fewer inhibitions than adults. Our pilots take time before take-off, explain everything in a child-friendly way and fly as gently as feels good for the child. A parent can watch the take-off or the landing.

For families staying in Innsbruck, the Elfer makes an easy day out: gondola ride, flight and landing on the big meadow in the valley. Parents who want to fly as well can book a high-altitude flight at the same time, if a second pilot is available.

Getting there from Innsbruck

Elferlifte, Neustift im Stubaital

Info stand at the Elferlifte car park, Moos 12b, 6167 Neustift im Stubaital, opposite Hotel Berghof

  • By car: A13 Brenner motorway to exit Schönberg/Stubaital, then up the valley to Neustift – about 30 minutes from Innsbruck. Free parking right at the info stand.
  • Public transport: Buses 590–594 from Innsbruck main station (also Bozner Platz, Triumphpforte, Basilika Wilten) to the stop “Abzweigung Elferlifte”, then about a 5-minute walk. The info stand is opposite Hotel Berghof.

From what age can children fly tandem?

From about age 3 or 15 kg body weight. What matters is that the child wants to – nobody is pushed into flying with us.

Can a parent fly at the same time?

Yes, if a second pilot is available. Book a second flight at the same time and child and parent will take off one after the other.

What do minors need?

A consent form signed by a parent or guardian. You sign it on site.

What happens in bad weather?

Safety comes first. If wind, rain or thunderstorms rule out a flight, we reschedule it free of charge.

What should I bring?

Sturdy ankle-high shoes, windproof jacket, long trousers, sunglasses – in winter also gloves and warm layers.
