Thermal tandem flight – 20 to 30 minutes riding the updrafts above the Stubai Valley
On the thermal flight your pilot uses rising warm air to gain height again. That keeps you in the air for 20 to 30 minutes – taking off at the Elferlifte or at Schlick 2000, depending on the wind. €165 per person.
What to expect
Thermals form when the sun heats slopes and rock and the warm air rises. Your pilot finds these columns and circles up inside them – you feel the wing lift and watch the valley get smaller.
Thermals don't form every day. That's why we check the forecast before every thermal flight and agree on the launch site and time with you. On clear days the view reaches far beyond the Stubai Valley.
- Riding thermals
Circling up in rising air to gain height.
- 20–30 minutes
About twice as long in the air as the high-altitude flight.
- Flexible launch
Elfer or Schlick 2000 – we choose the better mountain for the day.
Choose your date
We meet at the Elferlifte (Moos 12b, Neustift). If the wind means we launch from Schlick 2000 instead, we'll let you know beforehand. If the thermals aren't right on the day, we reschedule free of charge.

Message on WhatsAppWhen is the best time for a thermal flight?
Thermals need sunshine. They're usually best from late morning to early afternoon, mainly from spring to autumn.
What if there are no thermals on the day?
Then we move your flight free of charge to a day with better conditions – safety and comfort always come first.
Will I feel sick when circling?
Most guests are fine. Just tell your pilot if it gets too much and they'll fly more gently.
What happens in bad weather?
Safety comes first. If wind, rain or thunderstorms rule out a flight, we reschedule it free of charge.
What should I bring?
Sturdy ankle-high shoes, windproof jacket, long trousers, sunglasses – in winter also gloves and warm layers.
